Apply as Reviewer

How to Become a Peer Reviewer, What Are the Qualifications, and Where Can I Enter My Reviewing Interests?

To the Editorial Director,

You do not need to have a PhD or other advanced academic degree, but you must have sufficient credibility to be considered a peer or expert in a specific field. Ideally, a peer reviewer is someone who has published work in the field with internationally indexed publishers such as Scopus, Web of Science, or Copernicus and has a methodological background in quantitative or qualitative research.

We also encourage reviews from laypeople and practitioners, but in your review, please disclose your level of expertise and background.

Do not sign up as a reviewer if you have a conflict of interest. Any attempt by an author to register as a reviewer under a false identity will be considered scientific misconduct. If this occurs, we reserve the right to immediately reject the article and inform the relevant institution.

How to Register

  1. Fill out the registration form at this link.
  2. After that, register as a reviewer by following these steps:
    • Create an account with D'Stijl or log in with your existing account.
    • On your user homepage, select "View Profile".
    • Enter your reviewing interests as keywords in the "Profile" section. Editors will use the reviewer database to invite you to review articles relevant to your expertise. If you fill in this section, the system will automatically register you as a reviewer in the "Roles" tab.
    • If you receive a peer review invitation, you can also edit your reviewing interests in the peer review form.

If you do not want to enter specific reviewing interests but still wish to be invited as a reviewer, go to the "Roles" tab and check the reviewer option. However, we strongly recommend adding reviewing interests to ensure you receive invitations for articles that match your expertise.

Once you are registered as a reviewer, the editor will notify you, and you will later be assigned to review an article that aligns with your area of expertise.

Review Procedure

  • The standard turnaround time for completing a review is 2 weeks.
  • The main goal of the review is to provide constructive feedback to the author and prevent the publication of uninteresting or fundamentally flawed articles.
