We recognize that plagiarism is unacceptable. Therefore, we have established a policy with specific actions if plagiarism is found in a submitted article.
Plagiarism happens when an author tries to use or claim someone else’s work as their own, or when they reuse substantial parts of their own previously published work without proper citation (self-plagiarism).
Self-plagiarism can include publishing the same paper in multiple journals, or salami-slicing, where only a small amount of new data is added to a previously published article.
Manuscripts with detected plagiarism will be handled based on the level of similarity.
The editor uses Turnitin software to check for similarities in all submitted manuscripts.
Similarity > 30%
The manuscript will be rejected immediately without entering the review process.
Similarity between 15% – 30%
The manuscript may still be considered for review. However, if accepted, the author must revise the manuscript to reduce the similarity to below 15%, and no more than 3% from a single source.
If plagiarism is found before the article is published, the author will be asked to rewrite the content or provide proper citations.
In cases of major plagiarism, the editor has the right to reject the manuscript immediately.
If plagiarism is discovered after the article has been published, the editorial team will conduct an initial investigation.
Depending on the level of plagiarism, we may notify the author's affiliated institution and formally retract the article.
