Spatial Interactive Design Framework Based on Three Centers of Education for Railway Vocational Campus in Bandung

Railway vocational education plays a strategic role in providing competent human resources amidst rapid national rail infrastructure development. However, the dominance of technical aspects in built environments is often not optimal in shaping students' social character. This study examines the Railway Vocational Building design in Bandung by applying a Spatial Interactive approach. The methodology involves five stages: stakeholder requirements analysis, comprehensive site analysis regarding environmental constraints, synthesis of the Tripusat Pendidikan concept into zoning, massing iteration using grid and slippage techniques, and design verification. Verification was measured using Space Syntax (VGA) for visual integration and a wayfinding checklist for spatial legibility. Results show that dynamic massing and the implementation of 3–5 meter active corridors show the potential to increase spontaneous social interaction and user navigation efficiency. Interactive elements in "in-between spaces" are indicated to be capable of creating a dynamic and visually integrated learning atmosphere across educational zones. This research produces a vocational campus model expected to balance technical discipline with the strengthening of students' communicative character.
